“The family feel that pervades throughout the whole school continues into the academic education of the girls, as the two cannot be separate.”
It’s not so much what the teacher is teaching, but far more, what the girls are learning, that makes a good school. Education is about a passion for learning, a curiosity that allows children to go off on tangents to explore a subject more deeply, a lack of fear in any subject, and a confidence in their ability to be able to discuss any topic, supported with imaginative ideas, both orally and in written form. This is supported by inspirational teaching from specialist teachers, who have a desire to see all the girls reach their full potential. We also want the girls to have responsibility and ownership for their learning as they prepare for later life.
This learner-led concept enables them to develop skills they will need in adulthood:
- self-esteem and confidence
- the sense of responsibility, integrity and duty
- the ability to work independently or in a team
- the strength to be determined but resilient
